Discord error 50027: Invalid webhook token
Last verified against Discord Developer Docs - Opcodes and status codes
Invalid webhook token providedWhat error 50027 means
The token portion of a webhook URL is wrong or no longer valid. A webhook URL has two parts, /webhooks/{webhook.id}/{webhook.token}, and the ID can be correct while the token is not.
For incoming webhooks this happens when someone regenerated or recreated the webhook, or when a URL was truncated while copying. For bots it most often shows up with interactions: follow-ups and edits use /webhooks/{application.id}/{interaction.token}, and the interaction token is only valid for 15 minutes. A long-running command that edits its reply after that window, or a job that stores the token for later, gets 50027.
If the webhook itself was deleted, the response is 10015 instead. 50027 means the webhook ID resolved but the token did not match.
What it looks like
{
"message": "Invalid webhook token provided",
"code": 50027
}Why it happens
- Interaction token used more than 15 minutes after the interaction
- Webhook URL regenerated in Channel Settings > Integrations
- URL truncated or mangled when stored in an env var or config file
- Token from one webhook paired with another webhook's ID
How to fix Discord error 50027
- 1Compare the stored webhook URL with the one shown in the channel's Integrations page
- 2Copy the full URL again and store it without trimming
- 3For interactions, finish edits and follow-ups within 15 minutes; after that, post a normal channel message with the bot token
- 4Retry and confirm the request returns 200 or 204
How to stop it recurring
Treat interaction tokens as short-lived and never queue work that depends on them beyond 15 minutes. Store webhook URLs as secrets and validate them at startup with GET on the webhook URL. See the webhook debugging guide for more failure patterns.

No. Retrying the same request produces the same error; the condition has to be fixed first. Treat it as a permanent failure for that message and surface it, rather than looping.
