TL;DR

Interakt's unlimited agents and published per-message rates are hard to beat on price, but its linear Growth chatbot and AI add-on push some teams to look around. Six alternatives with prices checked on 3 November 2026 and how to move your number.

Key Takeaways
  • Interakt is good value for WhatsApp teams with many agents: every plan has unlimited agents and its per-message rates are published.
  • Teams look elsewhere when they need smarter automation than a linear chatbot, AI answering without an add-on, USD pricing, or channels beyond WhatsApp and Instagram .
  • On 3 November 2026 Interakt listed Starter (Instagram only) at ₹999 a month, Growth at ₹2,799 and Advanced at ₹3,799 plus taxes, with Enterprise on request and 20% off yearly.
  • Growth's chatbot is a basic linear one with 4 AnswerBot runs (up to 5 URLs); Advanced adds branching and API-call chatbots and 6 AnswerBot runs.

Why teams look for an Interakt alternative

Interakt is good value for WhatsApp teams with many agents: every plan has unlimited agents and its per-message rates are published. Teams look elsewhere when they need smarter automation than a linear chatbot, AI answering without an add-on, USD pricing, or channels beyond WhatsApp and Instagram.

On 3 November 2026 Interakt listed Starter (Instagram only) at ₹999 a month, Growth at ₹2,799 and Advanced at ₹3,799 plus taxes, with Enterprise on request and 20% off yearly. Growth's chatbot is a basic linear one with 4 AnswerBot runs (up to 5 URLs); Advanced adds branching and API-call chatbots and 6 AnswerBot runs. Full AI agents are an add-on at ₹2,499 a month with 100 AI messages and ₹0.50 per message after, though another line on the same page said ₹3,000. Per-message WhatsApp rates for Indian numbers on Growth were ₹0.958 for marketing, ₹0.150 for utility and ₹0.128 for authentication and service.

If the linear chatbot, the AI add-on or the rupee-only pricing is the friction, one of the alternatives below will likely fit better.

The alternatives in detail

1. WATI

WATI is an official WhatsApp Business API provider with a shared inbox, broadcasts, flows, AI credits and CRM integrations. It is Interakt's closest competitor.

Pricing (3 November 2026 unless noted): Growth ₹2,699 a month, Pro ₹5,799 and Business ₹16,799, billed quarterly. 3 users on Growth, 5 on Pro and Business, extra users ₹1,299 or ₹2,199. Automation triggers 1,000 / 2,000 / 5,000 and Wati AI credits 2,000 / 5,000 / 20,000 by plan. 7-day free trial.

Where it is strong:

  • AI credits and Astra AI agents included by plan
  • HubSpot on Pro, Salesforce on Business
  • API calls from 10k to 20M by plan

Where it falls short:

  • Per-user pricing, so large teams cost more than on Interakt
  • Automation triggers are metered
  • INR pricing

Best for: Teams of 3 to 8 who want AI and CRM integrations included. See WATI vs Interakt.

2. AiSensy

AiSensy focuses on WhatsApp marketing: broadcasts, click-to-WhatsApp ads and campaigns, with add-on chatbot and AI agent builders.

Pricing (3 November 2026 unless noted): Free Forever plan mentioned; tier prices were not shown in the page text. Chatbot builder add-on ₹2,500 a month (₹2,250 annually) for 5 chatbots; AI agent builder ₹1,350 a month (₹1,215 annually) with 1,000 AI messages. India rates: ₹1.09 marketing, ₹0.145 utility, authentication and service. Prepaid billing.

Where it is strong:

  • Campaign and broadcast tooling
  • AI agent add-on includes 1,000 messages
  • Free plan to start

Where it falls short:

  • Chatbots and AI are add-ons
  • Marketing message rate listed higher than Interakt's Growth rate
  • WhatsApp only

Best for: D2C brands that mainly send campaigns.

3. Respond.io

Respond.io puts WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, email and calls in one inbox with workflows and AI agents.

Pricing (3 November 2026 unless noted): Starter $99 a month ($79 yearly) with 5 users; Growth $199 ($159) with 10 users and AI agents; Advanced $349 ($279). From 1,000 monthly active contacts, overage $12 or $15 per 100. 7-day trial without a card.

Where it is strong:

  • Multi-channel inbox including calls
  • Workflows from Growth, HTTP requests on Advanced
  • USD pricing

Where it falls short:

  • Monthly-active-contact pricing
  • Higher entry price than Interakt
  • More than you need for WhatsApp alone

Best for: Support and sales teams running several channels.

4. BotPenguin

BotPenguin is a multi-channel chatbot builder with a free plan and LLM options.

Pricing (3 November 2026 unless noted): Baby free with 1,000 messages; Little $29 a month with 3,000 messages; King $99 with 12,000; Emperor $990. Website, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Telegram on the free plan.

Where it is strong:

  • Channels beyond WhatsApp on a free plan
  • Branching flows and LLM answers
  • White-label options for agencies

Where it falls short:

  • Less of a WhatsApp team inbox than Interakt
  • Message limits, not unlimited agents
  • Slack and LINE only on Emperor

Best for: Small businesses that need several channels cheaply.

5. ManyChat

ManyChat is the Instagram automation specialist, with WhatsApp support.

Pricing (3 November 2026 unless noted): Per contact; our 6 August 2026 check found about $14 a month for 250 contacts up to about $139 for 25,000. Confirm on its page, which blocked our check on 3 November 2026.

Where it is strong:

  • Instagram comment-to-DM and story automation
  • Large template ecosystem

Where it falls short:

  • Per-contact billing
  • Lighter WhatsApp inbox

Best for: Brands that started on Interakt's Instagram-only Starter and want deeper Instagram automation.

6. Conferbot

Conferbot is our product, so treat this entry with the scepticism a vendor listing deserves. It is a no-code chatbot builder that runs one bot across a website widget, WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Discord, Slack and Microsoft Teams, with AI answers trained on your content through the AI knowledge base and hand-off to a person in live chat.

Pricing (3 November 2026 unless noted): Free with 600 conversations a month and 2 chatbots; Starter $19, Pro $39 and Business $59 a month for 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 conversations (pricing). Every channel is on every plan. Webhooks and the API need Starter; native integrations such as HubSpot, Google Sheets and Stripe need Pro.

Where it is strong:

  • Per-conversation pricing, no per-contact or per-channel fees
  • Structured flows and AI answers in the same bot
  • Live chat hand-off and a shared inbox on every plan, including Free
  • 21 AI providers to choose from (see AI models)
  • Branching flows on every plan, not only on a higher tier

Where it falls short:

  • Fewer team seats than Interakt's unlimited agents (2, 3, 5, 15)
  • Not a broadcast-first tool
  • Instagram is still coming soon in the dashboard

Best for: Teams that want AI answers and branching flows on WhatsApp and the website without an AI add-on. See WhatsApp chatbot.

If unlimited agents is the main reason you chose Interakt, check that the alternative's seat limits work for your team before anything else.

Moving off Interakt

Interakt uses the official WhatsApp Business API, so your number and business account stay yours. Export contacts and tags, list your templates by category, rebuild flows in the new tool, then disconnect the number from Interakt and register it with the new provider. Check display name, quality rating and template status before switching traffic, and plan a quiet window because messages are not delivered during the switch.

Compare the per-message rate, not just the subscription

Interakt's published rates make it easy to forecast. Ask each alternative for its per-message price for your customers' countries and categories, and multiply by last month's sends. Marketing messages dominate most bills; utility templates are cheaper when they are genuinely transactional, which the template checker helps with. The cost calculator totals it up, and WhatsApp API error codes explains the failures that waste sends.

Worked examples

Growing past the linear chatbot

A store wants a menu that branches by order status, product and return reason. On Interakt that means moving from Growth (₹2,799) to Advanced (₹3,799) for branching and API calls. On WATI the Growth plan's flows already branch, metered by 1,000 automation triggers. On Conferbot and BotPenguin branching is on every plan. The cheapest path depends on how many automation runs you need.

Adding AI answers for 2,000 customer questions a month

Interakt: Advanced ₹3,799 + AI Agents ₹2,499 (100 messages included) + 1,900 x ₹0.50 = ₹7,248. WATI Pro: ₹5,799 with 5,000 AI credits included (ask how many credits an answer uses). Conferbot: 2,000 conversations fits the $19 Starter plan with AI included, plus Meta's message fees.

A 25-agent contact centre

Interakt's unlimited agents make it very hard to beat on subscription cost. Per-user platforms charge for every one of the 25. If this is you, the reason to switch has to be capability, not price.

Good reasons to stay on Interakt

  • Your team is large and unlimited agents save you real money.
  • Your automation is menus and FAQs, which the Growth chatbot handles.
  • You value published per-message rates for forecasting.
  • You use Interakt's own Sales CRM (₹2,499 a month for 5 sales agents) and do not want another CRM.

If those hold, upgrading to Advanced for branching may be cheaper than a migration.

Questions to ask any Interakt alternative

  • How many agents are included, and what does each extra cost?
  • Are branching flows and API calls on the entry plan?
  • Is AI answering included or an add-on, and what is the per-message AI price?
  • What are your per-message rates for Indian and international numbers?
  • Do you support Instagram and our website with the same bot?

Then check the answers against the WhatsApp messaging limits, which cap how many unique customers a new number can message a day regardless of vendor.

The four pricing models, and who each one punishes

Most of the price differences between these tools come from what they count, not from the headline number. Knowing which model you are buying tells you how the bill will move when your business changes.

ModelYou pay forGets expensive whenExamples here
Per contactEveryone who has ever messaged the botYour audience grows faster than your conversationsManyChat
Per seat or userEach agent with a loginThe team growsWATI, Respond.io, Intercom, Zendesk
Per message or creditEach message or AI answerConversations get longer, or AI does more of the workBotPenguin, Chatbase, SiteGPT
Per conversation or chatEach conversation, however longVolume grows (but long conversations cost the same as short ones)Conferbot, Landbot, Typebot, Botpress, Tidio

Two more lines appear on many invoices: AI as a separate meter (Lyro, Fin outcomes, AI credits, AI spend) and channel add-ons (WhatsApp per number, branding removal). Add both before comparing. A tool that looks cheap on the pricing page can cost more than one that looks expensive once these are in.

For WhatsApp in particular, Meta's own per-message fees sit underneath every model. They depend on category and country, not on the vendor you choose, except where a vendor adds a markup.

A one-week test plan before you switch

Feature lists do not tell you which tool will work for your customers. A short, structured test does. This takes about a week of light effort:

  1. Write down your 30 most common customer questions from last month, plus 5 the bot should refuse or hand over.
  2. Set up a free plan or trial on two or three shortlisted tools with the same content and the same channel.
  3. Run the 35 questions through each and score them: correct, partly correct, wrong, handed over.
  4. Send a test template in each category and check it arrives, how it is billed and where a failure shows up.
  5. Assign a conversation to a second agent and time how long the hand-over takes.
  6. Ask each vendor for last month's invoice for a customer of your size, including message fees.

Pick the tool that answers best on your own questions and whose bill you can predict. If two tie, pick the one your team found easier to change, because you will change it every week.

If AI answers are part of the test, our guides to training on a knowledge base and human hand-off explain what good looks like.

How we compared

Prices, allowances and plan features were read from each vendor's public pricing page on 3 November 2026, unless a different date is shown next to a figure. Where a page contradicted itself, we say so instead of picking a number. We did not run every tool in production for this article; it compares what vendors publish, plus how each pricing model behaves at realistic volumes. ManyChat's figures are from 6 August 2026 because its pricing page blocked our check. Prices change often, so confirm on the vendor's page before you buy. Corrections are welcome via contact. Disclosure: Conferbot is our product; its entry says so.

If you would rather not run the plumbing yourself

If you are moving because you want AI answers and branching flows on WhatsApp without an add-on, and the same bot on your website, Conferbot covers that on every plan. See WhatsApp chatbot and the template library.

Start free with Conferbot - the free plan includes 600 conversations a month and needs no credit card, so you can have the same flow running on a second channel this afternoon.

Whichever tool you pick, run it against a real week of your own conversations before you commit. Pricing pages describe the model; only your traffic tells you the bill. The chatbot cost calculator and the vendor evaluation questions help structure that test.
