Why teams look for a Voiceflow alternative
Voiceflow is a capable platform for designing chat and voice agents, with a collaborative canvas and a large developer surface. The most common reason teams look elsewhere in 2026 is pricing visibility: Voiceflow's pricing page no longer lists prices.
On 3 November 2026 the page offered two paths. Agencies and partners get a free trial with no credit card, usage-based billing, multi-client workspaces, white-labeling and access to major model providers. Businesses request pricing after a demo, with implementation support, voice and chat deployment, observability and roles. That works for teams ready for a sales process. It does not work for a team that needs a number in a budget this week.
The other reasons are fit: some teams want a chat-only agent live without designing on a canvas, some want published per-conversation pricing, and some want self-hosting. The alternatives below cover each case.

7. Conferbot
Conferbot is our product, so treat this entry with the scepticism a vendor listing deserves. It is a no-code chatbot builder that runs one bot across a website widget, WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram, Discord, Slack and Microsoft Teams, with AI answers trained on your content through the AI knowledge base and hand-off to a person in live chat.
Pricing (3 November 2026 unless noted): Free with 600 conversations a month and 2 chatbots; Starter $19, Pro $39 and Business $59 a month for 2,000, 5,000 and 10,000 conversations (pricing). - Instagram is still coming soon
Best for: Teams that want an AI agent on their website and messaging apps without design or engineering time. See AI chatbot builder.
If you need voice
Voice is Voiceflow's clearest strength, and it narrows the list. Of the alternatives above, Chatbase lists voice and telephony from its Basic plan; Botpress is chat-first, so ask it directly how it handles a phone channel. The others are chat products. If phone agents are central, keep Voiceflow on the shortlist and ask for a written quote, or evaluate dedicated voice-agent vendors alongside it.
Which Voiceflow alternative fits your situation
| If you need | Look at | Because |
|---|---|---|
| A builder platform with public prices | Botpress | Closest like-for-like |
| An AI agent answering from docs this week | Chatbase, SiteGPT or Conferbot | Train on content, no canvas design |
| Self-hosting | Typebot | Public source and Docker guides |
| Voice | Voiceflow or Chatbase | Voice listed as a feature |
| Many messaging channels, no code | Conferbot | Every channel on every plan |
| Agency white-label | Voiceflow agency plan or BotPenguin | Built for reselling |
Moving a Voiceflow agent
There is no import from Voiceflow into any of these tools. Moving means re-creating the agent's instructions and knowledge sources, rebuilding any designed flows, re-connecting channels and integrations, and re-testing. Export your knowledge base content and transcripts first. Teams that move from a designed agent to a knowledge-trained one often find the new agent needs fewer flows: much of what was designed by hand becomes answers from content, with a few structured flows for bookings or forms. Our migration guide has a checklist, and RAG vs fine-tuning explains why content-trained agents work.

- How do designers and developers collaborate on a change?
- How do we test an agent before release, and roll back a bad version?
- Which channels and integrations we need are first-party?
Our vendor evaluation questions has a longer list.
The four pricing models, and who each one punishes
Most of the price differences between these tools come from what they count, not from the headline number. Knowing which model you are buying tells you how the bill will move when your business changes.
| Model | You pay for | Gets expensive when | Examples here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per contact | Everyone who has ever messaged the bot | Your audience grows faster than your conversations | ManyChat |
| Per seat or user | Each agent with a login | The team grows | WATI, Respond.io, Intercom, Zendesk |
| Per message or credit | Each message or AI answer | Conversations get longer, or AI does more of the work | BotPenguin, Chatbase, SiteGPT |
| Per conversation or chat | Each conversation, however long | Volume grows (but long conversations cost the same as short ones) | Conferbot, Landbot, Typebot, Botpress, Tidio |
Two more lines appear on many invoices: AI as a separate meter (Lyro, Fin outcomes, AI credits, AI spend) and channel add-ons (WhatsApp per number, branding removal). Add both before comparing. A tool that looks cheap on the pricing page can cost more than one that looks expensive once these are in.
For WhatsApp in particular, Meta's own per-message fees sit underneath every model. They depend on category and country, not on the vendor you choose, except where a vendor adds a markup.
A one-week test plan before you switch
Feature lists do not tell you which tool will work for your customers. A short, structured test does. This takes about a week of light effort:
- Write down your 30 most common customer questions from last month, plus 5 the bot should refuse or hand over.
- Set up a free plan or trial on two or three shortlisted tools with the same content and the same channel.
- Run the 35 questions through each and score them: correct, partly correct, wrong, handed over.
- Change one fact in your content (a price or an opening hour) and see how long each tool takes to pick it up.
- Trigger a hand-off to a person and check what the agent sees: the transcript, the customer's details, the AI's answer.
- Estimate the monthly bill from the trial's usage counter, not from the pricing page.
Pick the tool that answers best on your own questions and whose bill you can predict. If two tie, pick the one your team found easier to change, because you will change it every week.
If AI answers are part of the test, our guides to training on a knowledge base and human hand-off explain what good looks like.
How we compared
Prices, allowances and plan features were read from each vendor's public pricing page on 3 November 2026, unless a different date is shown next to a figure. Where a page contradicted itself, we say so instead of picking a number. We did not run every tool in production for this article; it compares what vendors publish, plus how each pricing model behaves at realistic volumes. Prices change often, so confirm on the vendor's page before you buy. Corrections are welcome via contact. Disclosure: Conferbot is our product; its entry says so.
If you would rather not run the plumbing yourself
If the reason you are leaving Voiceflow is that you need a working AI agent on your website and messaging apps with a price you can see today, Conferbot's free plan is a quick way to test that. Background reading: what an AI agent is and choosing an LLM.
Start free with Conferbot - the free plan includes 600 conversations a month and needs no credit card, so you can have the same flow running on a second channel this afternoon.
Whichever tool you pick, run it against a real week of your own conversations before you commit. Pricing pages describe the model; only your traffic tells you the bill. The chatbot cost calculator and the vendor evaluation questions help structure that test.
