The answer up front: 9 AI chatbots for Webflow compared
Webflow has no chatbot of its own for visitors, so you add one of two ways: a Webflow App from the Apps marketplace, which installs from the Designer, or a snippet in your site's custom code, which needs a paid site plan or a paid Workspace plan. BubblaV, Orimon and Ultimo Bots offer Webflow Apps. Tidio, Crisp, Chatbase, Elfsight, Intercom and Conferbot install through custom code. Pick by what the chat must do: answer from your content, hand chats to a person, or run the same bot on WhatsApp, Messenger and Telegram as well.
Webflow's marketplace does not show star ratings, so the table compares install route, free option, lowest paid price and how AI is billed, from each vendor's listing or pricing page on 3 November 2026.
| Tool | Installs as | Free option | Paid from | How AI is billed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Conferbot (our product) | Custom code | Yes, 600 conversations/month | $19/month | Within the conversation allowance |
| BubblaV | Webflow App | Yes, 100 AI messages/month | $39/month billed yearly | Monthly message quota |
| Orimon | Webflow App | Yes (per listing) | See Orimon's pricing | Per plan |
| Ultimo Bots | Webflow App or script | 7-day trial | $29/month | AI credits (500 on Smart) |
| Tidio | Custom code | Yes | $24.17/month billed yearly | Lyro from $32.50/month |
| Crisp | Custom code | Yes | $45/month per workspace | Varies by plan |
| Chatbase | Custom code | 7-day trial | $40/month | Message credits |
| Elfsight AI Chatbot | Embed or custom code | Yes, 50 messages/month | $5/month billed yearly | Monthly message cap |
| Intercom | Custom code | Free trial | $29 per seat/month billed yearly | Fin at $0.99 per outcome |
Prices are the vendors' own figures on the check date. Webflow's own listing note applies to every App: Webflow reviews apps for quality, but says it does not endorse or certify them.
How we compared them, and what we did not do
- Webflow App details (approval note, free plan, how it installs) come from each app's page in the Webflow Apps marketplace on 3 November 2026.
- Prices come from each vendor's pricing page on the same date.
- Features come from vendor documentation and listings.
- Conferbot is our product, described exactly as it works, and listed first because this is our site.
We did not benchmark answer quality or Lighthouse scores on a test site. Webflow sites vary a lot in how much script they already load, so the only speed number that matters is yours. The test section below shows how to get it on a staging domain before you publish anything.
Two ways to add a chatbot to Webflow
Route 1: a Webflow App
Apps install from the Apps panel in the Designer. Orimon's listing describes the flow: log in to install, open the extension in the Designer, click Launch, enter your chatbot ID and submit, which adds the script to your site; then publish. Apps request permissions, such as access to site data and Designer workflows, so read what each one asks for.
Route 2: custom code
Most chatbots give you a snippet to paste into Site settings, Custom code, in the Footer code box (before </body>). Custom code is a paid feature: on a free Starter site the custom code section asks you to add a site plan, while a paid site plan or a paid Workspace plan unlocks it. Custom code runs on the published site, not inside the Designer canvas, so publish to staging to test.
- Copy the snippet from your chat tool. In Conferbot: Share, then Embed into your website.
- In Webflow, open Site settings, then Custom code.
- Paste it into Footer code and save.
- Publish to your
webflow.iostaging domain, test, then publish to your custom domain.
To show chat on one page only, paste the snippet into that page's own custom code (Page settings, Before </body> tag) instead. Our designer-friendly Webflow chatbot guide covers styling the launcher to match your site.

The 9 tools, one by one
1. Conferbot (our product)
A hosted AI chatbot and live chat platform. One bot, with flows and an AI agent trained on your pages and files, answers on your Webflow site and, if you connect them, on WhatsApp, Messenger and Telegram, with one shared inbox.
- Free plan: 600 conversations a month, 2 chatbots, 2 team members.
- Paid plans from $19/month; removing "Powered by Conferbot" starts on Starter, full white label on Pro.
- Live chat handover on every plan; native integrations such as HubSpot need Pro.
Strengths: One bot for every channel, a launcher you can style to your brand, flows and AI in one builder.
Trade-offs: Custom code only, so it needs a paid Webflow plan; no Webflow App yet.
Best for: Agencies and SaaS or service sites whose leads also arrive on messaging apps.
Installing it on this platform: Footer code. The Webflow chatbot page shows the snippet.
2. BubblaV
An AI chatbot with a Webflow App that trains on your site's pages.
- Free forever: 100 AI messages a month, 1 website, 50 pages, 7-day conversation retention.
- Pro $49/month or $39/month billed yearly, with 5,000 messages and 5 websites.
- Billed by message quota, not per conversation.
Strengths: Installs from the Designer, no code, a free plan that is enough to test.
Trade-offs: Short history retention on the free plan; a newer vendor.
Best for: Marketing sites that want a no-code AI answer bot.
Installing it on this platform: Webflow App from the Apps marketplace.
3. Orimon
An AI chatbot whose Webflow App adds the bot to your site from the Designer.
- Free plan available, according to its Webflow listing.
- Collects leads, answers about your company, hands chats to a human, and flags weak answers for retraining.
- Includes a meeting-booking template.
Strengths: Lead capture and handover built in, no code.
Trade-offs: Pricing beyond the free plan was not shown on its pricing page when we checked.
Best for: Lead-generation sites testing an AI assistant.
Installing it on this platform: Webflow App: Launch in the Designer, enter your chatbot ID, publish.
4. Ultimo Bots
An AI agent and live chat that learns your site and files, takes actions through skills, and lets your team take over a conversation.
- Smart $29/month (500 AI credits), Boost $59 (2,000), Ultimo $249 (10,000).
- 7-day free trial on every plan.
- Lists Webflow as a supported channel on every plan.
Strengths: Actions and automations, live chat takeover, translation.
Trade-offs: Credit-based billing; no ongoing free plan on its pricing page.
Best for: Sites that want the bot to do things, such as book or capture leads, not only answer.
Installing it on this platform: Webflow App or script.
5. Tidio
Live chat, a helpdesk and the Lyro AI agent.
- Free plan available.
- Starter $24.17/month billed yearly.
- Lyro AI from $32.50/month.
Strengths: Mature product, strong mobile app.
Trade-offs: AI billed separately; custom code needs a paid Webflow plan.
Best for: Teams that want live chat first.
Installing it on this platform: Footer code.

Installing it on this platform: Footer code.

8. Elfsight AI Chatbot
An AI chatbot widget from Elfsight's widget library.
- Free forever: 50 AI messages and 200 views a month.
- Basic $5/month billed yearly with 300 messages and 5,000 views.
- Lists Webflow among supported builders.
Strengths: Very low price.
Trade-offs: Message and view caps; no shared live chat inbox.
Best for: Small sites that want simple AI answers.
Installing it on this platform: Embed code in an Embed element or Footer code.
9. Intercom
A helpdesk with the Fin AI agent.
- Essential $29 per seat a month billed yearly ($39 monthly).
- Fin at $0.99 per outcome.
- 14-day trial.
Strengths: Mature AI agent, reporting and product-tour tools.
Trade-offs: Expensive for a small site once seats and outcomes add up.
Best for: SaaS companies with a support team.
Installing it on this platform: Footer code, or Intercom's own install guide for Webflow.
Also worth knowing: tawk.to is free human live chat and installs with the same Footer code step; it suits sites with someone to answer during business hours.
Making the chat look like it belongs on a Webflow site
Webflow sites are usually designed with care, and a default chat bubble can undo that. Before you choose, check what each tool lets you control:
| Control | Why it matters on Webflow |
|---|---|
| Launcher color, shape and icon | Match your brand tokens rather than the vendor's default |
| Position and offset | Avoid covering a sticky footer CTA or cookie banner |
| Hide on chosen pages | Keep chat off the homepage hero or a landing page with its own form |
| Removing vendor branding | Usually a paid feature; on Conferbot it starts on Starter |
| Greeting and delay | A short, specific greeting after a few seconds is less intrusive than an instant pop-up |
The chat widget designer lets you try launcher styles before you commit, and the typing indicator generator covers the small animation details. For layout and copy, see the chatbot window design guide and our chatbot UI best practices.
What a Webflow chatbot should do
Webflow is popular with SaaS companies, agencies and studios, and their first flows are similar:
| Site | Flow worth building | Starting point |
|---|---|---|
| SaaS | Answer product and pricing questions from docs, book a demo, route support to the right team | lead qualification chatbot |
| Agency or studio | Qualify the project, capture budget and timeline, book a call | lead qualification guide |
| Marketing site | Answer pre-sales questions, collect emails, hand hot leads to sales | lead generation chatbot |
| Any site, after hours | Answer the top questions and take a message | after-hours template |
For SaaS in particular, the content you train on matters more than the tool. Our guide to training a chatbot on a knowledge base covers what to include and what to leave out, and chatbots for technology companies has more examples.
Webflow App or custom code: which route to pick
| Webflow App | Custom code snippet | |
|---|---|---|
| Webflow plan needed | Depends on the app | Paid site plan or paid Workspace plan |
| Where you set it up | Apps panel in the Designer | Site settings, Custom code |
| Permissions | The app asks for site or Designer access | None in Webflow; the snippet only loads a script |
| Removing it | Uninstall the app, then check the published site | Delete the snippet and republish |
| Choice of tools | The few chat tools with a Webflow App | Any chat tool that gives you a snippet |
Apps are friendlier for non-technical editors, because nobody has to touch code. Snippets give you the whole market of chat tools and nothing to grant permissions to. Many teams start with whichever their chosen tool supports, which in practice means custom code for most of the well-known platforms.
For agencies: chat across many client sites
Agencies building on Webflow usually need the chat to scale across clients without one bill per site getting out of hand. Four questions decide it:
- How many bots per account? Conferbot's plans include 2 chatbots on Free, 3 on Starter, 10 on Pro and 25 on Business.
- Can clients be kept apart? Separate workspaces keep each client's conversations and team apart; Conferbot includes 3 workspaces on Pro and 5 on Business.
- Can you remove the vendor's brand? Removing "Powered by Conferbot" starts on Starter, and full white label is on Pro.
- Who answers? If the client's staff answer chats, they need their own logins and a phone app; check the seat count per plan.
Templates help here too: build a lead-capture or booking bot once, then reuse it per client from the template library. The white label and team management pages cover the details.
What to train a SaaS or agency bot on
For SaaS sites the bot's value comes almost entirely from its sources. Give it:
- Your pricing page and plan comparison, kept current.
- Help center or documentation pages, so support questions get real answers.
- Integration and security pages, which pre-sales visitors ask about constantly.
- A short internal note of what it must not promise: custom pricing, roadmap dates, legal terms.
Then test it the way a skeptical buyer would: ask about a competitor, a missing feature and a price that is not on the page. The answers should be accurate or a clean handover, never a guess. Our knowledge base training guide covers keeping sources fresh, and retrieval-augmented generation explains how the bot finds the right passage.
Privacy and consent on a Webflow site
Webflow leaves consent to you or to a consent tool, so plan for it. List the chat tool in your privacy policy, decide whether it loads before or after consent, and test the site with consent accepted and declined. If the chat collects emails or phone numbers, ask in the flow and store only what you need. The chatbot GDPR guide covers lawful basis and retention, and the accessibility guide covers keyboard and screen-reader support, which matters as much on a polished Webflow site as anywhere.
CMS pages and Webflow Ecommerce
Two Webflow features change how you set the chat up:
- CMS collection pages. Site-wide Footer code also loads on collection template pages, such as blog posts or case studies. If you want a different behavior there, hide the launcher on those URLs from the chat tool, or use the template page's own custom code instead of the site-wide box.
- Webflow Ecommerce. A snippet-based chat runs on your pages but does not read Webflow's orders. Train it on product, shipping and returns pages for pre-sales questions, and send order questions to a person with the order number collected in the chat. The order tracking template and returns assistant follow that pattern.
Whichever case applies, keep one source of truth for the snippet. Two copies, one site-wide and one on a template page, load the widget twice.
Measuring results on a SaaS or agency site
On a pre-sales site, count outcomes rather than chats. After the first month, compare:
| Number | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Demos or calls booked from chat | The clearest sign the chat creates pipeline |
| Leads captured with an email | Visitors who would otherwise have left |
| Questions handed to a person | Where the bot's sources need work |
| First response time on handovers | Whether hot leads wait too long |
Tag chats that become opportunities in your CRM so the number is real. On Conferbot's Pro plan, native integrations such as HubSpot and Salesforce can create the record from the chat for you.
Multilingual Webflow sites
If you use Webflow Localization, each locale lives under its own path, and the chat should follow the visitor's language. Decide three things up front:
- One bot or one per language. An AI agent usually replies in the language it is asked in, so one bot can serve several locales; fixed greetings and buttons still need translating.
- Sources per locale. Train the bot on each locale's pages, or at least on the pages for the markets you serve, so answers match local prices and policies.
- Where the launcher shows. If you only support some languages, hide the launcher on the other locale paths from the chat tool.
Our multilingual chatbot guide covers language detection and translation, and the multilingual chatbot glossary entry defines the terms.
A five-minute shortlist test
Before any deep testing, rule tools in or out with five quick checks against each vendor's site:
| Check | Pass if |
|---|---|
| Install route | It has a Webflow App, or your plan already includes custom code |
| Free plan or trial | You can test it on staging without paying |
| Handover | A person can take over from a phone with the conversation in view |
| Billing unit | You can estimate the monthly bill from your traffic in one sentence |
| Exit | You can export conversations and contacts |
Anything that fails two checks is rarely worth a staging test. For a wider shortlist across platforms, see our ranking of AI chatbot builders.
What a Webflow chatbot really costs
- Your Webflow plan. Custom code needs a paid site plan or a paid Workspace plan. Webflow Apps install from the Designer.
- The tool's plan, and seats if it prices per agent.
- AI usage: message quotas (BubblaV, Elfsight), credits (Ultimo Bots, Chatbase), per outcome (Intercom's Fin) or a conversation allowance (Conferbot).
Price each option at your expected monthly volume. The chatbot cost calculator does the arithmetic, and the chatbot pricing comparison explains how vendors count conversations, messages and resolutions differently.
How to test on staging before you publish
- Add one tool and publish to the
webflow.iostaging domain only. - Train it on the same content you would give any tool.
- Ask ten real questions, including two that need a person.
- Run Lighthouse on staging with the snippet in and out.
- Check on a phone that the launcher does not cover a CTA.
- Repeat with your second candidate, then publish the winner to your domain.
The website chatbot preview shows a widget over your live page before you install anything. If nothing appears after publishing, the widget troubleshooting guide covers the usual causes.
Common mistakes on Webflow
- Expecting the chat in the Designer. Custom code runs on the published site, so test on staging.
- Adding code on a free Starter site. The custom code fields are locked until you add a paid plan.
- Pasting into Head code. Use Footer code unless the vendor says otherwise.
- Leaving an old snippet. Switching tools means removing the old code, or you get two launchers.
- Letting the bot quote prices it should not. Give it clear sources and fallbacks; see the fallback message examples.
- Showing chat on every page by default. Keep it off landing pages that have their own form, so visitors are not split between two calls to action.
Where a Webflow chatbot earns its place
For SaaS and agency sites, chat pays off in pre-sales: questions answered instantly, qualified leads routed to the right person, and demos booked outside office hours. Support deflection comes next, once the bot has good documentation to draw on. Our human handoff guide covers how to route those leads, and live chat explains how your team picks them up.
If your leads also arrive on WhatsApp, Telegram or Slack, one inbox saves a lot of switching. See omnichannel support and website chatbots.
Choosing, then avoiding the plumbing
If you want no code at all, start with a Webflow App such as BubblaV or Orimon. If you want live chat with AI overflow, Tidio and Crisp are well known. If you want one AI agent and live chat for your Webflow site and your messaging channels, Conferbot for Webflow does it from one builder, with templates and a shared inbox.
Start free with Conferbot - the free plan includes 600 conversations a month and needs no credit card, so you can have a store assistant answering on your Webflow site this afternoon.
